Location. The historic Lafayette Hotel, built in 1916, stands on fashionable St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, La. The hotel's eatery, Restaurant Anatole, serves contemporary spins on New Orleans cuisine, including steaks and Gulf seafood in an elegant setting overlooking St. Charles Avenue. The four story Lafayette, one of the first buildings in the city to offer plumbing, retains many unique architectural elements such as French doors, wrought iron balconies and Italian marble floors.
